And hippy dippy

So that took too long but I have butt cup thing and hip, belt, thigh pieces. Stage 1 again but I have run out of card. Also cut the original papercraft chest pieces apart and I think I will just use them with the new cutting lines as well as create a new shoulder and back support.
So most of it will be my pattern (direct to mannequin) but the chest will be an alteration of the papercraft. Unless I go and buy even more card and just do this out of stubborness…. Which is fairly typical.
I need more card anyway….

Clashing cardboard aside….

So this is what I mean by stage 1. Here all the layers are present but I still rely on tape to help with the shape. So there are still patches and darts that need to be cut and evened. But I have tried this on my arm and it fits with enough wiggle room for a thicker substrate- probably two layers of thin foam not the heavy stuff.
So I need a good amount of extra card to do this. Also I think I’d actually need at least one whole extra cow were I to make this from leather so I will leave it for my current plans of Talon bikini top and some fantasy armour.

I can draw at least :)

So cutting the templates for Shae was harder than it needed to be and I was almost in tears. It is ready to glue together now though and the effort should be worth it.
So after a break I started testing the paper patterns for my Blood Dragon. No, I’m not yet ready to cut the foam base. But I do now have all the armour roughly patterned. Except the helmet. I kind of like how my Lizzie Shep looked with her tiny ponytail and no helmet in cut scenes 🙂

A mix of printer paper, cartridge and baking paper. So yes, it will all need to be transferred. Hpwever my walls are horrible so I need to buy enough card to cover it as well as transfer patterns to.
